About Me:

My love of capturing images began at a very young age. I can remember sneaking off with my father’s camera and burning through roles of film taking pictures of bugs, flowers, and our pets. I elevated my skills in high school and refined them in college by taking photography classes, becoming a member of the photojournalism team, and lead photographer for the American Advertising Federation competition team at Texas State University. After receiving a B.A in Marketing, photography became my hobby while I built a career in high-tech. However, once my son was born I found myself behind the lens more than ever. Taking my cameras everywhere ensuring I captured those little life moments. Due to me always having a camera by my side, I was soon asked to start taking pictures for school events, youth and school sports, parties, and work events, as well as doing private portrait sessions for friends and family. Finally, with some motivation from some great mentors and fellow photographers, I launched Fred Herdman Photography in 2015.

I focus on portraits, weddings, engagements, high school seniors, and family portraits. I am also available for corporate and private events, corporate headshots, real estate, and pet portrait sessions. I am located in Willow City, TX just outside of Fredericksburg, and accept bookings with no additional fees in the greater Austin, Dripping Springs, Llano, Marble Falls, Johnson City, and Fredericksburg areas.
